An international symposium on phytoremediation was organised by department of environment and water management and postgraduate department of environmental sciences of SP College, here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, a campaign on clean water and sanitation was also launched. Besides, the college’s annual newsletter, The Pratap Post, was also released.
Secretary Higher Education department, Talat Parvez Rohella, Deputy Director Floriculture, Shabir Ahmad, Deputy Director, Tourism department, Syed Shabir, and invited speaker Dr Khalid ul Rehman Hakeem, Professor from King Abdul Aziz University, KSA, were present on the occasion.
The Principal of the college, in his welcome address, highlighted the role of the college in bringing forth the issues that are of global concern.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Higher Education lauded the college for organising such programs and adopting a practical approach towards identifying issues and resolving them.
A presentation regarding the pilot project to be taken up by the college under clean water and sanitation campaign was made by Dr Humaira Qadri, Head of department of environment and water management.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Nadia Shah from the English department.
