Army Goodwill School, Anantnag Highground, celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas with full enthusiasm.
All the students and staff of the school participated in the event along with the soldiers of Army’s 1 RR battalion, an army handout said.
“Inspirational lectures were delivered by teachers as well as senior students about history and importance of the day,” it said.
“There are many events being conducted from 25 July to 28 July 2019 viz. Painting Competition, Essay, Debate and lectures highlighting ethos or nationalism and sacrifices made by the Armed Forces for safeguarding the nation against foreign aggression,” the statement said.
A short movie on Kargil War was also screened for the students which is followed by an interactive session.
Various students participated in painting competition in which Munaza Tabasum from 9th Class, Master Hazim Keen from 3rd class and Miss Saraswati Kumari from 8th class were declared winners in different categories and were honoured for their performances.
On the occasion Commanding Officer, 1 RR Battalion gave a brief account of reasons to celebrate ‘Vijay Diwas’.
