A woman from Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) has become the first female pilot to fly Pakistan International Airlines.
Maryam Mujtaba was introduced by a video posted by PIA today. Appreciating the support of PIA, in a 04:40 minutes video, Maryam said that PIA gave her “wings to fly”.
“Getting into this profession was a dream job for me, as I have been dreaming about this since I was a little baby,” Maryam said.
“Presenting the first female pilot from Kashmir – Maryam Mujtaba! We had a chance to chat with the pride of our nation. Check out what all she has to say, you’re in for a surprise! #PIA #FlyPIA #PilotDiaries,” Pakistan International Airlines wrote on its official Twitter handle.
Maryam had joined PIA as a Cadet Pilot in 2011. She had acquired her experience while flying an ATR. Now she is flying as a First Officer Airbus A-320. Interestingly, the day Maryam got her Commercial Pilot License (CPL), an advertisement appeared in PIA and she applied for the job. “I cannot even share how happy I was when I saw my name in the list,” Maryam was quoted saying. She called flying “the best profession for girls”.
While sharing the reaction of female passenger who came to know that the plane in which she is traveling is being run by a female pilot, Maryam said that she was really scared and then finally when they landed “she approached me, we shared a good time together, took a couple of pictures and then she gave me blessings too.”
Urging parents to motivate their daughters, she said they should motivate them to bring the best out of themselves. Agencies
