Will promote tourism, business: Governor


The Governor N N Vohra was today informed that all arrangements have been put in place for operating night flights from Srinagar International Airport.
During the course of a meeting convened here today to review progress of key developmental projects in public works sector, principal secretary planning, development and monitoring Rohit Kansal informed the Governor that all requisite arrangements including security and logistics have been put in place by Air Force, Airports Authority of India and state government authorities for facilitating night landing of flights at the Airport.
Kansal said trial run of night flights will be conducted on Thursday at the airport with Go Air operating its first commercial night flight to Srinagar.
Hailing the operationalization of night flights at the Airport, the Governor congratulated authorities concerned for this significant development which he said would go a long way in promoting tourism and business activities in the State.
