Wakf Board to organise Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) conference on 22 April


The J&K Wakf Board is organizing the ‘Shah-e- Hamdan (RA) conference’ on 22nd April at SKICC here. 
In a statement, secretary of the board said the conference will be presided over by the  Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti.
“The purpose of the conference is to bring the focus contribution of Hazrat Amir-e-Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamadni (R.A) in social, cultural and educational sphere among the youth in particular. The conference will also seek to highlight role of Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) in propagation of Islam preachings in Kashmir,” the statement said. 
The statement said in prelude to the conference, an essay writing competition   among students of High / Higher Secondary Schools and Govt. Degree Colleges of different in districts of Kashmir Division was held today at Sultan-ul-Arifeen Wakaf Public Hr. Sec. School Kathidarwaza (Srinagar). 
The themes chosen for topic were Shah-e-Hamdan & the art and craft in Kashmir and Revolutionary effect of Shah-e-Hamdan on Kashmir society
On this occasion, the vice-chairman Wakf Board advocate Nizamuddin Bhat  said  that a series of measures have been  flagged to  work out  for quality turn-around in Wakf schools and pitch up the medium of  Education as an instrument  of social change,  over a period of time.
The statement said apart from eight Wakf High, Higher Secondary Schools, two Degree Colleges and two Government Higher Secondary Schools from each district were invited to participate in the competition.
“The students securing first three position in colleges and first three toppers among Schools will be anyway awarded at the ensuing “Shah-e- Hamdan Conference” on 22nd April. The other students who took part in the essay competition will be given certificate of participation, the statement added.
