Mobile Internet snapped in Srinagar after Batmaloo shootout


Mobile Internet was snapped in Srinagar on Sunday morning following a shootout between the militants and the government forces in Batmaloo locality of the city.
An official said the service was suspended as a “precautionary measure”.
A policeman was killed and four forces’ personnel injured in the shootout that broke out in Batmaloo area early Sunday after forces launched a search operation.
An official said the militants hiding in a house opened fire on the forces, resulting into injuries to five forces’ personnel. “One of the injured, identified as sgCT constable Pervaiz succumbed,” he said.
