The students of Government Dental College Srinagar went on an ‘indefinite strike’ from today to protest the alleged dictatorial approach of the college administration.
The students assembled in the premises of the college to lodge their protest against the alleged harassment by college principal and head of orthodontics department.
Carrying placards that read, among others, “shut the college down” and “we want justice”, the students shouted slogans demanding attention of the government towards the “mismanagement” and “abuse of power” in the college.
The protestors included both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
“We will continue the strike till the long pending issues regarding the welfare of students are not addressed,” said the students.
