Get patients of viral infection screened: GMC to HoDs

The Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has asked all heads of departments, heads of units, faculty members to get suspected patients of viral infections screened free of cost at VRDL, department of microbiology for suspected viral infections. 
“The faculty shall remain available from 25 May 2018,” reads a circular issued by Principal GMC Prof Samia Rashid.
Meanwhile, cardiology services at SMHS hospital conducted a workshop on complex arrhythmia ablation, a potentially life threatening electrical disturbances in human heart, whose clinical presentation can vary from palpitations, fainting to sudden death.
“A 40-year female was admitted to super specialty hospital with complaints of recurrent fainting. The clinical evaluation revealed a diagnosis of idiopathic VF. The VF being the ECG equivalent of sudden death, but the patient was resuscitated successfully,” said a statement. “This is our second successful case in last one year.”
