‘Costliest VC!’

The Kashmir University (KU) has spent more than Rs 15 lakh on the process for selection of its new vice chancellor.
A senior KU professor said that more than Rs 15 lakh has so far been spent on boarding, lodging, travel and other expenses of the search committee chairman and members, as well as the shortlisted candidates, in the last four months.
The professor remarked sarcastically that “this is thus far the costliest vice-chancellor the university shall have, both in terms of the time consumed by the selection process as well as the money spent on his appointment.”
