Allow schools to function from 9 am: Parents

Parents on Thursday appealed directorate of school education Kashmir to allow private schools to function from 9 am to 3pm in areas falling within Srinagar municipal limits.
A group of parents said the opening of schools at 10 am in morning leads to chaos in Srinagar area as school buses ferry students across all the areas of the city.
"Offices also open at around 10 am and it brings city centre and adjoining areas to standstill due to traffic gridlock," they said.
The parents said opening schools at 9 am within city areas will reduce traffic congestion during office timing.
"Education department should allow schools to start functioning from 9 am in order to avoid traffic chaos," they said
