5-day workshop on educational evaluation held


A five day workshop on educational evaluation and paper setting was inaugurated today at JK Board of School Education (BOSE) office at Bemina, here.
The workshop is being organized by RIE Ajmer in collaboration with the JKBOSE. Experts of NCERT are the members of workshop team headed by Chairman RIE Ajmer Prof. Dr. G.Vishwanathapa.
Around 60 key resource persons from directorate of school education Kashmir (DSEK) provided their services during the event. The workshop is aimed at giving training to lecturers, Masters and Teachers by the outside experts on evaluation and paper setting.
Director Academics (JKBOSE), Farooq Ahmad Peer, highlighted importance of educational evaluation in ensuring quality education. "The educational system is witnessing cataclysmic changes in world as well as in the country. Our state has to follow the changes if we want to have a quality system of education," he said.
He said paper setting should be done in such a manner and method which inculcates aptitude of competition reason and analytical approach not towards their learning but towards all spheres of life among the students.  
Prof. G. Vishwanathapa, chairman RIE Ajmer shared the recent initiatives being taken-up by NCERT in the field of educational evaluation.
Director School Education Kashmir, G N Itoo, stressed for revised scheme of evaluation which is student friendly. Secretary JKBOSE, Reyaz Ahmad emphasized on having competency based evaluation tool to ensure comprehensive evaluation of a student.”
