J&K to host Pre-I league J&K Invitational Football Cup


SRINAGAR: J&K is going to host ‘Pre-I League J&K Invitation Football starting from 16th October. The tournament is scheduled to be held at TRC ground,a statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association Said.
According to the statement a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr.
Secretary State Sports Council Naseem Javaiad Chowdhary, in which the issue of hosting ‘Pre-I League J&K Invitation Football Cup’ was discussed. The Chairman was appraised about various arrangements being made, including constitution of various sub-committees etc., for smooth conduct of the tournament.
The tournament will be played on knockout basis in which four local teams including I-league debutant Real Kashmir FC, J&K Bank FC, Lone Star FC and State Football Academy FC and some of the country’s top clubs including I-League champion Minerva FC, Belgaluru FC, Mohammadan Sporting FC, Hindustan FC are going to take part
The tournament is being organised jointly by the J&K State Sports Council and J&K Football Association. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3.00 lakhs while as the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1.00 lakh.
