District XI beats RCC Budgam in the inaugural match
Srinagar: The inaugural match of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Premier Championship (JKCPC) Budgam leg was played on Monday at Narbal cricket ground.
The inaugural match was played between District XI Budgam and RCC Budgam.
Bating first after winning the toss District XI put a formidable total of 186 on the board. Middle order batsman Uzaib Ahmad (53) and Mehraj-ul-Amin(47) were main contributors to the scoreboard.
For RCC Budgam, Ahsan took three wickets and Safdar also bagged two wickets.
In pursuit of 186 RCC Budgam was never in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals. None of their batsmen was able to put a decent show with the willow and the entire team was bundled out for 134.
Uzaib Ahmad for his knock of 53 was adjudged as man of the match.
Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by chief secretary of Cricket Forum Budgam Syed Asrar alongwith its members Shahid Bhat, Dawood Ahmad and Bashir Ahmad. JKCA selectors Abdul Qayoom, Asif and Talat Ahmad were also present on the inaugural ceremony.
The league is being organised by District Cricket Association Budgam (DCAB) under the aegis of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA).
Around 64 teams from district Budgam are taking part in the tournament and the team list and fixtures will be published separately, the organisers informed.
