‘Yasin Malik’s remand extended till July 13’

Police today extended the remand of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik till July 13, a JKLF spokesman said in a statement.
“Yasin Malik was arrested by police on July 6, during a raid on his house and since then he along with Umar Adil Dar of Tehreek -e- Hurriyat is lodged at Police Station Kothibagh here,” the spokesman said condemning the continued detention of Malik.
Meanwhile, Yasin Malik expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of a child in a mysterious blast at Memander, Shopian in south Kashmir.
“He became a victim of some mysterious blast and embraced martyrdom,” the spokesman quoted Malik as having said in his message from police station, Kothibagh, here.
“On daily basis, Kashmiris are forced to shoulder the coffins of their dear ones as military suppression continues to haunt them. The pain of yesterday’s martyrs is still fresh when a new catastrophe has hit us snatching one more life and injuring three more others critically.”
