Vigilance Commission reviews pending cases


The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) comprising chief vigilance commissioner P L Gupta and vigilance commissioner Gazanfer Hussain Wednesday reviewed cases (FIRs) pending investigation with the vigilance organisation for the quarter ended September 2018.
The commission was informed by the director vigilance organisation, SJM Gillani that the vigilance organisation has registered 63 cases during the current year.
It was informed that 35 cases have been disposed of, out of which 29 have been charge-sheeted in the court of law. 
It was informed that the investigation in 60 cases had been stayed by the High Court, “while 25 cases are awaiting sanction from the government,” a statement here said.
The director vigilance was advised to seek early hearing in the petitions where the HC has granted stay. 
“Quality of the investigation and training of investigation officers also came up for discussion during the meeting,” it said.
