Search operation continues in B’pora

The government forces continued search operation in north Kashmir’s Bandipora village for third successive day on Monday.
Officials said that the operation was resumed in Panar village of the district as heavy gunfire exchange took place between militants and forces in the morning.
They said intermittent firing between militants and forces has been going on from Saturday, in which two army men have been reportedly injured so far.
An army official said that due to uneven terrain and dense vegetation in the area operation is proving quite challenging.
He added that all the entry and exit points to the village have been sealed, while additional reinforcements have also been called to prevent militants from escaping the cordon.
He said that a group of militants is believed to be hiding in the nearby forests.
