Our missing son among killed militants, claims Langate family


A family from Langate in Kupwara district on Friday claimed that their son, who was missing for the past many days, is among the militants killed in a gunfight with forces in Rafiabad forests on Thursday. 
Army in a press conference at Peru Rafiabad this afternoon said that five militants believed to be of foreign origin and affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit were killed during an operation in the dense forests of Rafiabad in Baramulla district on Thursday. 
“Bashir Ahmad Mir of Langate has approached the police and claimed that one among the five militants killed in gunfight in Rafiabad forests is there missing son, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir,” a police official said. 
A source said the family had filed a missing report of their son, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir, at police station Langate on August 6. 
Senior superintendent of police Sopore Javed Iqbal told Greater Kashmir that a Langate family has approached the police and are claiming that one among the killed militants is their son. “The family claimed that a masked man approached them on Friday and told them that their missing son is among the killed militants” the SSP said. 
He said that police would will cooperate with the family and if their claim is correct then law would take its own course and accordingly body would be exhumed. “Even if DNA test will be required then we will go for it,” he added.
