National Ayush Mission holds Seminar Cum Free Medical Camp in Bandipora

With the purpose of taking AYUSH systems of health care to the grass root level and at every single village of District, the department of Indian systems of medicines (ISM) here on today holds seminar cum free medical camp under National Ayush Mission in Garoora Village of Bandipora District. The Seminar on National Ayush Mission was held to promote and highlight cost-effective AYUSH services, enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani and Homoeopathy and revitalization of the AYUSH system to make it as a prominent medical system. MLA Bandipora Usman Majid was the Chief guest on the Occasion who inaugurated the programme. The camp was attended by a large gathering of people, doctors, youth officers of the education department and students of Govt High School Garoora.

District Nodal Officer ISM Bandipora Dr. Iftikar Hussain enlightened the participants about various activities being taken up under national AYUSH mission in the district and gave a detailed presentation about the Unani and Ayurvedic system of medicine. Dr. Iftikar highlighted the objectives, implementation, and role of AYUSH in daily life activities in the programme. He said that today’s focus was on Diabetes. The presence of almost whole population on the occasion is an encouraging sign for our mission.
He said Indian System of Medicine (AYUSH) has been getting good public response across the district.

The MLA Bandipora Usman Majid on the Occasion appreciated the steps taken by the department for promoting AYUSH medical system.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine, for organizing such programmes and assured full co-operation in future also. He urged people to adopt the system of medicine, besides choosing it as a career opportunity.

Pertinent to mention here that the Department of Indian System of Medicine has been is working tirelessly to spread the awareness about prevention of diseases and promotion of health.

The awareness programs were followed by a free Medical camp wherein team of doctors examined and treated over 300 patients in Garoora Village and over 150 patients were screened for diabetes with the free test. People of Garoora village availed free AYUSH consultations and medicines enthusiastically

Meanwhile, there were overwhelming response forms the public towards AYUSH system of medicine. Earlier ISM adopted this village under National AYUSH Mission, Besides that the ISM distributed two water purifiers and ten dustbins among two government schools of the village of Garoora.
