Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a militant and an over ground worker in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Senior superintendent of police Ganderbal Muhammad Khalil Poswal told Greater Kashmir that an active militant Talha Umair @Abu Hamza affiliated with Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind  a resident of Sehpora Ganderbal was arrested with persistent “efforts of district police Ganderbal and his family.”
Umair had joined the militancy earlier this year.
“The main handler Ishfaq Ahmad Dar of Sehpora  Ganderbal who has been instrumental in persuading him to join militancy was also detained by police for questioning,” the SSP  said.
He said that they were tracking this newly recruited militant and after getting some leads about his whereabouts we have arrested him. An official said that few more arrests are also expected in the case.
“Since the subject has been found involved in the weapon snatching case at Hazratbal earlier this year, so investigation and questioning in this regard is also going on,” he added.
