Kashmir: Civilian injured after army opens fire in Pulwama village


A civilian was injured after army allegedly opened fire in Drabgam village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Monday, locals said.
However, police claimed that the man, identified as Altaf Ahmad Zargar, was injured in "cross-fire" with militants.
Locals said that army opened fire, resulting in injuries to while he was riding his bike. "There was no stone-pelting going on in the area. Also, army men were not fired at," they said.
A top police official said that shots were fred at army. "The soldiers retalited and in the exchange of fire a civilian was injured," he said.
The injured civilian, a resident of Aglar village, was shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
