Chrar-e-Sharif faces official neglect

The Charar-e-Sharif education zone has become victim of “official neglect” as the post of zonal educational officer and posts of two principals in two higher secondary schools in the zone have been vacant for the past many years, locals told Greater Kashmir.
They said, “Schools in upper belt of the education zone are also facing dearth of teaching staff. The authorities are least bothered about providing adequate staff as well as school heads.”
A group of teachers said, “Teachers who have been posted in the schools of Chrar-e-Sharif zone have been adjusted in offices of ZEO and other offices taking a toll on academics in the schools.”
They said, “As per SSA norms tenure of ZRP and CRP is only two years but the blue eyed teachers are enjoying their stint in offices for past seven years,” the teachers said.
The prolonged stay of these teachers in offices has exposed the poor implementation of the departmental orders regarding de-attachment of teachers from offices. “Director Education has instructed all the ZEOs and CEOs number of times to relive the teachers from their offices but there is no implementation of these orders,” the teachers said.
“We appeal secretary school education and director school education to ensure that de-attachment orders are implemented on ground,” they added.
Director school education Kashmir  said the department has issued promotion orders in and the posts of principals and ZEO would be filled very soon.
“We have also instructed all CEOs and ZEOs to relieve teachers from their offices. Any officer who will not implement the orders will face action,” the DSEK said.
