Braid cutting scare: Police-public meetings held in Bandipora


Police in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on Thursday held two meetings with the members of public regarding the scare triggered by braid-cutting incidents.
“In connection with braid cutting incidents, Bandipora police held two police public meetings in Sumlar and Aloosa villages,” said a spokesman.
He said the meetings were held at Police Post Sumlar and Police Post Aloosa chaired by their respective Division Officers. Respectable citizens of their jurisdictions participated in these meetings.
“The main motive of these meetings was to make people aware about braid chopping incidents and necessary precautions to be taken. They were advised that in case they will find any suspicious person/movement, don’t panic and call the helpline numbers which are functioning 24×7. People were also advised to be aware of the rumour mongers and not to pay heed to them.”
