The services at district hospital Ganderbal will remain affected for four days from Monday as the equipments and other infrastructure are being shifted to the newly constructed hospital building at Duderhama.
An official said that the new district hospital building was likely to be inaugurated in next few days.
Officials said the equipments and other machinery were being shifted to newly built premises at Duderhama area which will take at least four days. However, they said the emergency services would be operational at the old building in the district.
"All the medical services such as OPD, pre-op and post-op services will remain affected. However, emergency care shall be available at old casualty section till the shifting takes place,” Dr. Roshan Din Kasana, chief medical officer Ganderbal, informed the Greater Kashmir.
“As you know, it takes some time to shift things from one premises to another and shifting also needs some time to detach and re-attach certain equipments and machinery etc, so all the medical services like OPD, pre op and post op services will remain affected. However, emergency care shall be available at old casualty section till the shifting is done,” the CMO said.
Dr. Kasana requested for the cooperation of the common people to complete the shifting and start of work at the new place.
The 200-bed district hospital in Ganderbal is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 52 cr and its executing agency is the JKPCC. Work on the hospital building was started in 2009 however the building is still incomplete, though one block has been completed and will be inaugurated in next few days.
