17 specialist posted in rural hospitals


In a move aimed to address shortage of specialists in rural health institutes, the authorities on Wednesday issued posting orders of 17 specialist doctors and placed them in peripheral hospitals which were facing shortages of the doctors.
As per an order issued by Health and Medical Education Department on Thursday, doctors joining directorate recently and awaiting posting have been placed in district hospitals (DH) of Kupwara, Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla and Islamabad. 
As per the order, the health institutes where the doctors have been posted including those in Achabal, Tangdar are grossly deficient in manpower.
The doctors posted include Dr Reyaz Ahmad Qadri, MD Anesthesia (DH Baramulla); Dr Khalid Aejaz Nasti, MD Medicine (Block Achabal); Dr Mohd Rafiq Najar, MD Medicine (DH Handwara); Dr Bilal Ahmad Ganie, MD Medicine (Block Verinag); Dr Irfan Ahmad Shah, DM Neurology (DH Baramulla); Dr Aatif Nabi Shah, MD Anesthesia (SDH Kupwara) and others.
