Renowned Kashmiri singer, Shazia Bashir, was Sunday nominated for a top Indian Award.
Shazia Bashir, a Kashmiri singer hailing from Achbal Islamabad was nominated for Bismillah Khan Award by ‘Sangeet Natak Academy’.
The award is given President of India in Delhi.
Shazia has sung more than five hundred songs and has performed last year in London as well.
A recipient of ‘Infotel’ award, she has received more than half dozen awards from government and other private agencies.
On being nominated for the prestigious award, Shazia said she is happy. “From last eight years, I am in musical field.”
The other two persons who will receive the award from President of India, are Theatre artist Mushtaq Kak and Khem Taj. (KNS)
