Srinagar: Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of various economic sectors of the valley who are the basic constituent members of the alliance, has taken a strong notice of some individuals having met the chief minister and finance minister of the state on behalf of this alliance in regard to Goods and Services Tax (GST).
According to an official statement, KEA Secretary General Siraj Ahmad said that this was far from the fact as the issue never came to be discussed in any meeting of the KEA nor had any consent been sought from its office bearers, as such had no approval to be taken up or discussed with any authority of the state. “It is made clear that none from this alliance has been part of any such meetings,” the statement added.
The Kashmir Economic Alliance vehemently opposes the move of extension and implementation of GST regime in the state of Jammu and Kashmir as it is grossly anti trade, anti people and anti Jammu and Kashmir State. “We affirm to strongly agitate and demonstrate against the implementation of this tax regime,” it added.
