SRINAGAR: The displaced shopkeepers from Huzuri Bagh have hailed the government for ensuring their prompt rehabilitation after two decades.
The shop owners said that they had been awaiting rehabilitation in the nearby shopping complexes that got delayed ‘unnecessarily’ over the years. They hailed the assurances and efforts made by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Asiea Naqash for their prompt rehabilitation. In a statement, Ghulam Muhammad Wani, president of the displaced shopkeepers association said it was after a long delay that government resolved their issue. Farooq Ahmad, General Secretary of the traders said that rehabilitation will also ease the traffic on this nerve stretch. He said that the minister ensured them that rehabilitation of the vendors was expedited on priority basis.
