2 dead, 3 missing after vehicle plunges into river near Ramsoo



Two passengers died while three others are feared dead in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramsoo region of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said. 

An official said that a Tata Sumo on way to Jammu from Shopian district of south Kashmir met with the accident near Gangroo in Ramsoo and fell into Bishlari nallah. 

Eight people were onboard the vehicle, bearing registration number JK03 8881, when the accident took place.

One person identified as Haajat Mir, son of Naseer Mir, a resident of Chek-e-Syedpora Shopian, died on the spot.

Another injured, identified as Sikander Mir, resident of Chak-e-Syedpora Shopian succumbed on way to Nachilana army camp hospital.

Three missing persons who were washed away in the Bishlari nullah waters were identified as Abdul Rehman Mir, Mohammad Hussain Mir and Muhammad Ashraf Bhat – all residents of Shopian
